Mr Sultan Ramzan is the Head Cardiac Physiologist across Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital. With more than 40 years of experience in echocardiography.

He has previously served as a BSE accreditation assessor and contributed to the TOE examination question-setting committee, supporting the development of future echocardiographers. Over his career, he has trained hundreds of doctors and cardiac physiologists in echocardiography practice.

Dr Boyang Liu is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in echocardiography and advanced cardiac imaging, with extensive NHS experience in managing complex cardiovascular disease and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging.

A multimodality imaging consultant, he has advanced expertise in all echo modalities, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

She plays a key role in practical echo training, helping learners develop hands-on skills and build confidence through structured teaching grounded in real-world NHS experience.

Stephen is a Cardiac Clinical Scientist and experienced Cardiac Physiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. He works within a BSE-accredited echo lab delivering advanced imaging in TTE, TOE, Stress Echo, and echo training.

He plays a key role in practical echo training, helping learners build real-world confidence through structured teaching and hands-on supervision.

Dr Mahdy is a passionate Cardiology Registrar at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. He practises in a BSE-accredited echo lab and is a recognised FUSIC Heart Supervisor (ICS) with Level 2 BSE accreditation in TTE.

He plays a pivotal role in delivering structured teaching and clinical supervision for junior doctors and trainees. He is known for tailoring his teaching to individual learner needs, helping them build clarity, confidence, and strong bedside echo skills.

Michelle is a highly experienced Cardiac Physiologist and Head of Echocardiography across Birmingham Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She works within BSE-accredited labs across TTE, TOE and stress echocardiography, with a strong focus on clinical excellence and training.

She plays a key role in training doctors and cardiac physiologists within real-world NHS settings, helping learners build practical skills, confidence, and safe decision-making in echocardiography.

Leah is a Cardiac Clinical Scientist and experienced Cardiac Physiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, working within a fully BSE-accredited echocardiography laboratory.

She supports practical echocardiography training for junior doctors and cardiac physiologists, helping learners develop scanning skills and confidence through structured teaching and hands-on supervision.
